DESPITE non-stop rain, Toft’s friendly home match with Burghley Park ladies proved an exciting contest with honours even for both intrepid teams.

Acting captain Sandra Wildmore and her partner battled hard to eventually halve their match and in another nail-biting scrap Mary Stark and Maureen Paulson came in 1 up.

Judith Childs and Marilyn Marriot lost out 3&2 and Burghley gained the upper hand when Maggie Steer and Marie Davenport also lost 6&5. However the day was saved with Marianne Robinson and Bee McKechnie coming in with a win of 3&2 which meant the match was halved.

l ALISON Ravenhill won the Spring Eclectic, ahead of Geraldine Moss and Hayley Hunt who were level in second place.

l TOFT Ladies’ July Sunday Medal was won by Judith Childs with a net score of 74.

l TOFT’s recent league results include a 3-1 vicotry aganst Stoke Rochford and a 3.5-2.5 defeat to Woodhall Spa.

l TOFT Seniors Stableford was won by John Lewis with 37 points.

Division One winner was Paul Asher with 37, ahead of David Sharp (33) and Graham Hughes (33).

Division Two was won by Andy Brown with 37 points.

Roger Everson was second with 35 points and Pete Wass third, on the same score.
