Ken wins Greetham’s medal

Ken Mason had the game of his life to win this month’s midweek medal.

Playing off 26, Ken shot a gross 84 (net 58) for victory and a three cut to his handicap.

Neil Chatterton, off 13, was cut to 12 after taking second on countback from 23-handicapper Simon Bell. Both players came in with a net 62 - normally enough to win. Jordan Burdall, playing off scratch, shot a fantastic 65 to take the lowest gross.

l Keith Hempenstall won the Seniors May qualifying Stableford with 37 points in division one.

Second and third were settled on countback with Ken Stewart, off 10, pipping Tim Lee, off 17, after both players ended on 34.

Mike Hooper, off 24, took the honours in division two with 37. Peter Keast was second with 36 and Charles Guttridge took third on countback from Dave Lucas after they both scored 35.

l Greetham’s mixed team beat Stoke Rochford on the Lakes Course, finally winning a game that swung back and forth 4-2.
