Luffenham fourball raises £300

A field of 32 played a Stableford fourball and raised £300 in a recent Pink Peril Charity Day at North Luffenham.

Derek Cooper, Ken Jones, Brian Jackson and Gill Wooldridge won with 114 points. Runners-up were John Nicholls, David Scotchmer, Charles Cade and Gay Griffin with 111 points.

Winning gent was Charles Cade on 35 points, beating Brian Jackson on countback, and the leading lady was Jan Newton also scoring 35 points with former member Gill Wooldridge in second with 31 points.

The leading guest player was former captain Graham Wooldridge with a score of 34 points.

Gordon Knox won division 1 of May’s Sunday medal, coming out on top on countback with a net 70 playing off 11.

He was closely followed by Keith Bellamy (off 18) and Tom Little with nett 72 (off 12).

In division 2, Ian Brocklehurst won a closely contested competition with a net 69 (off 20) followed by David Grieve scoring 70 to reduce his handicap to 22 with Dave Purvis in third with a net 76.

In the latest midweek medal, there was a three-way tie with Liam Doyle leading the way on countback with a nett 69 (off 23), closely followed by Chris Lee (off 22) and John Nicholls (off 19).

The Seniors enjoyed a 4-2 win against Rutland Water.
