New captain Roger Overton came out on top when leading golfers from around the region converged on Rutland County Golf Club for the Gary Freckingham Memorial Trophy.
With the course defying recent inclement weather conditions, Overton amassed 21 points to finish ahead of the 84-strong field.
Neil Armstrong was delighted with his 20 points for second place.
Hard-working organiser Ollie Freckingham raised £300 towards the British Heart Foundation.
After a lengthy period of re-hab, Graham Cole is once again scaling the heights – getting 41 points to win the Tipsy Trot and signalling his return to his former glory days. Just behind him were John Peyser and Pete Maksymiw on 44 pts.
Dave Champion showed his pedigree as he outpaced the field in the Holiday Stableford to win by four points.
He collected 43 points to finish ahead of Pete Siciliano, whose 39 points pushed in-form Paul Milsom into third on countback.
Reg Parker crushed the field in the January Medal as a large field enjoyed excellent golfing conditions resulting in 12 net sub-par rounds.
Reg Parker was first with 84-20-64 with Malcolm Collins second with 78-10-68. Darren Child shot 76 for best driving off the first tee in front of an admiring gallery.
Jenny Cobb began her second term as Lady Captain, repeating her first year of office back in 2004.
The equally admirable Roger Overton is looking forward to the challenge of club captaincy this year as a nine-handicapper is sure to lead from the front.
