BOURNE Tennis Club has announced a change in its coaching structure, ushering in a new era of tennis coaching for both adults and juniors in the area.
The club’s coaching programme will now be provided by B2 Tennis, run by Simon Bentley, a former head coach at Bourne, and Peter Bridgewater, who is also a former coach. The pair already run other set-ups elsewhere in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
The new head coach at Bourne will be James Gay of Market Deeping, who has several years’ experience and is looking to bring some enthusiasm and excitement to his work at Bourne.
An active coaching programme is planned which will include coaching squads and multi-sports camps for juniors.
The club has also received funding from Lincolnshire Sports Partnership’s Silver Spirit initiative to provide free Mini Tennis and Cardio Tennis sessions for players over the age of 50, with younger players welcome too. Both sessions are a great way to keep fit and play tennis, regardless of your ability.
B2 Tennis will run an Open Day of free coaching on Sunday, August 19 for anyone interested in playing tennis. For details visit www.bournetennisclub.com or call Simon Bentley on 07762 716956, or e-mail him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
