Stoneygate Rugby Club whose senior section play at Uppingham Community College’s ground have a fast growing mini section with 120 plus children already signed up from the ages U5 to U12, and are looking to grow further and expand on their older sections for their third full season, and matches already in place to play.

Minis coach Paul Murray said: “Stoneygate Minis is all about fun and making friends, whilst learning how to play a great sport which we hope they carry on into adulthood.

“We look to cap age groups when they get to a certain size so as to make sure all of the children get to play in the matches against other clubs, which is all they want to do following training sessions, and love to pull the jersey on and experience playing for a team which is lovely to see.

The Mini section starts again this season on Sunday, September 7 at the Hallaton Recreation Ground,

The club said it would welcome any new players to come and give it a go, whether they have played before or would like to give it a try for the first time, with no signing fee for the first handful of Sundays.
