New venue as Kart Club get ready for fresh season

Bourne Kart Club’s 2013 season starts with the first round of the Grass Championship on Sunday.

The races will take place at a new venue, Fen Lane, Metheringham, near Lincoln.

The 175cc class looks like it’s going to be competitive with reigning Supreme Champion Pete Coupland and son Matt, from South Witham, returning.

Jake Roberts, from Langtoft, will make his debut after racing in the junior classes and these guys will be joined by several Bourne racers including Jason Burkitt, and Colin and Steve Francis.

Former banger racer Robert Culpin has joined the club with his 250cc machine, as does Kevin Bishop from Market Deeping.

Up and coming stars include Owen Edwards, Callum Pearson, Rippingale brothers Andrew and Mitchell Clarke,and the recently crowned winter GP winner Adam Richardson from Morton.

Add to this, many more established local racers including Tony Reynolds, Darren James, Phil Gout, and three more Clarkes in Vince, Donna and Robert it looks like being an entertaining day.
