ADY Naylor of Wing won the first round of Rutland Water’s Tuesday Night Boat league, which was fished last week.
Naylor was top rod with an eight fish limit weighing in at 17lb 4½oz.
The best fish was a 4lb 15½oz rainbow taken by Keith Jones.
Results: 1st Ady Naylor 8 fish for 17lb 4½oz; 2nd Geoff Wanless 5 for 12lb 2½oz; 3rd Mick Bennett 5 fish for 12lb 1¼oz.
Overall, the best rainbow of the week was a 5lb 14¾oz fish taken by Steve Baines of Oakham.
Junior angler Graham Hayward from Empingham took a 5lb 4½oz brown while other notable catches included a 5lb 9oz rainbow for Roger Gill and a 5½lb rainbow for Chris Williams.
The 2,620 fish caught last week bring the season total at Rutland Water to 9,754 with a rod average of 4.38.
A beginners course for pike fishing takes place on May 26, and the reservoir will host the Anglian Water floating line match on June 9.
A MASSIVE 11lb 11oz rainbow was caught by Darren Oram of Watford while boat fishing at the Stoke Dry area of the fishery.
Darren used a Cats Whisker to take his mammoth catch.
Due to much needed rainfall and increased water levels at the fishery, the Leicestershire bank is again open for anglers. The fishery management advise that all bank anglers wade no more than knee height and use a wading staff.
