DEEPING Tennis Club are feeling ace after being awarded a Lincolnshire Lawn Tennis Association Clubmark.
The Clubmark is a Sport England initiative awarded to clubs that have consistently shown high standards of management, policy and procedures, tennis programmes and planning, and after months of hard work from the members of the Deeping tennis committee, Andy McFeeters, of Lincs LTA, attended the club to hand over the award to club chairman Colin Pummell.
Pummell said: “This award is testament to all the hard work put in by the committee over the past few months.
“We are delighted and hopefully this can really help put us on the local tennis map.
“We are a very progressive, all-inclusive club with 10 different teams and a full-time coach so there really is something for everyone of whatever ability or age. Hopefully now we have the Clubmark, we can attract even more members down here where they will be guaranteed a very warm welcome.”
As part of the development of the club, another set of floodlights will be added to the third court at Deeping in September while members also have access to two further courts at Langtoft.
Anyone wishing to get involved can attend the club’s open day on May 7.
