Pool players from Stamford, Bourne and Casterton were crowned champions at the National Inter-League tournament at the weekend.
Scott Anderson, Lewis Roberts, John Lord and Mark Kelham represented Boston’s Sportsman after qualifying from the county league and they won the national prize at the team’s first ever attempt at the finals which took place at Great Yarmouth.
They came out on top of 96 teams, reaching the final stages by beating teams from Blackburn, Cornwall, Nottingham and Leicester.
In the quarter-finals, they beat Trent Trophies B (10-8), at the semi-final stage they knocked out Manchester’s Normans Elite (10-6) and in the final they beat Nottingham’s Sun Valley (10-7).
The Sportsman finished with four of their players ranked in the top six of more than 900 players taking part.
