THE Summer competitions are up and running at North Luffenham Golf Club with Dick Gregory, Jim Ashworth, Dave Wildman and Keith Bellamy winning the Ruddles Trophy.
The latest Sunday Medal Division 1 winner was Keith Bellamy who returned a net 70 earning him a handicap cut from 18 to 17. Second was Tom Little with a net 72 off 11.
Division 2 winner was Dave Flynn with net 74 off 24 beating Gwilym Jones (26) on count back.
The mid-week medal for May was won by Alan Cassapi with an impressive net 66, which led to a handicap reduction from 19 to 18. He held off club president Stan Smith into second with a net 68 off 26.
Both the seniors team and the men’s team played two matches in May. The seniors beat Humberstone Heights 4 -2 in a very tight game, but were beaten 4-2 , in a similarly close match, by Oadby.

The men’s team suffered a heavy defeat at Rutland County going down 6-0, although two of the games were decided on the last green.
The match against Rutland Water was an enjoyable 3-3 draw.
