Thomas claims bronze trophy

NINE-year-old Thomas Chaytor, who trains with Stamford Tae Kwon-Do Club returned with a bronze trophy from the recent British Tae Kwon-Do Championships.

Thomas, a pupil at the Malcolm Sargent Primary School, was selected to enter the championships by his instructor, sixth degree black-belt, Jill Pearce.

The competition held at Telford, Shropshire was hosted by the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain and attracted more than 1,000 competitors from across the country.

Gavin Arnold, also from the Stamford club, which trains at the primary school on Wednesday evenings, brought home a bronze from the men’s executive blue belt sparring competition.

The club’s year was rounded off with a grading promotion overseen by grandmaster eighth degree black-belt, David Oliver.
