Vale squad to fly county flag at school’s nationals

Rutland schools will be well represented when Vale Judo Club takes a squad of 14 to compete at British Schools Judo Championships on Saturday.

This event, which takes place at Sheffield Ice Stadium, is one of the biggest junior domestic events with more than 500 junior competitors. Almost 200 schools and colleges took part last year.

The following fighters are competing for Vale Judo Club and representing their schools and colleges:

Girls: Bryony Cutforth (Ketton), Emma Philip (CBEC), Megan Rowley (CBEC), Sofia Palmer (Stamford), Alex Cutforth (CBEC). Boys: Callum Rowley (CBEC), Joe Potter (Catmose College), James Reseigh (CBEC) , Ben Buckby (Catmose College), Oliver Blake, Andrew Bennett (UCC), Luke Wadding (Catmose College), Sam Conboy (Catmose College).

The following fighters are not eligible to compete due to their involvement with the England Squad: Daniel Bennett, Holly Newton and Clemence Barnes.
