STAMFORD Striders’ St Valentines 30K race has stormed its way into a ‘top ten’ of events voted for by readers of Runner’s World magazine.
In the magazine’s February edition the Striders’ 2010 signature event ranks among the top in its class.
Nick Wells, race director said: “Runner’s World is probably the most widely read running magazine in the UK and lists hundreds of races on its events diary, which makes being ranked in the top ten of one of race categories an exceptional achievement.
“The 30k is something really unique in the race calendar and we’re proud that runners think so highly of our big local race.”
This year’s event is the 18th the club has held, and takes place on February 13. Around 500 of the 750 St Valentine’s 30k places have already been filled.
Entrants will set off from Queen Eleanor School along a tough-yet-stunning course through the villages of Little Casterton, Tolethorpe, Careby, Pickworth and Great Casterton.
Businesses can become a sponsor of the St Valentine’s 30k with a variety of packages available (e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07708 593792 for details).
The 30k race is open to over 18s and entry costs £18 (£16 affiliated runners).
