Jason Burrill put a stop to Tom Combens’ winning streak with victory in the most important race in the Bourne Wheeler’s calendar, the club 10 mile championship.
Over the sporting Greatford course, Jason recorded his best time over the testing course, 23:26.
Only eight seconds adrift in the runners up spot was Tom, with Matt Green placing third with 24:36.
The youth championship was a little more clear-cut with Campbell Pollock winning in a time of 24:35.
Tim James took second with 24:56 and Robbie Ward was third in 25:28.
The fastest female was Jess Woodworth with 29:54.
Road racing wise, teenagers Tim James, Jess Woodworth and Sian Botteley have all been recording excellent results.
A busy week saw Tim take second in the NCRA handicap league last Thursday at Corby, while on Saturday at Mallory Park he placed an exceptional 11th in a national ranking senior event.
Jess took two wins in three days in the female under-14 races at Corby and Mallory.
Sian also raced at Mallory, placing 10th in the women’s race.
She followed this up with 32nd in the latest National Series race at Naseby on Sunday and then took her sixth victory of the season in the Lotus League race near Norwich on Wednesday.
