Televised event will next test for race ace Pulling

Bourne Academy student Abbi Pulling made the step up to senior class for the first time when she contested the opening round of the Motorsport UK British Karting Championship at the weekend.

The 16-year-old junior champion was in action at the PFI kart circuit only six days after a successful debut in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge at Oulton Park.

Changeable weather threw in a curve ball, but Tal-ko Racing works driver Pulling managed to be quick in all circumstances, despite not having driven her kart for almost three months.

Some very tough races resulted in fifth and eighth places in the two heats with qualifying issues making the races more difficult.

Hard fought 10th and 12th positions were then the reward for the Alyssa Smith Jewellery supported driver in the two finals from the 48 entries.

Pulling is now looking ahead to the next Ginetta GT5 round - the televised event on the BTCC programme at Thruxton on May 18 and 19.

With a big step in confidence coming away from Oulton Park and a test day next week, the British Women Racing Drivers Club champion is targetting some top results.
