Stamford’s Sunday first team are still looking for their first win of the season in division one of the Rutland League.
Nassington won by 39 runs on Sunday to inflict Town’s eighth loss in nine outings.
Alex Bandaranaike clobbered a quick 70 off 63 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes before he was caught and bowled by Alex Birch.
Yet before Bandaranaike strode to the crease, Stamford had sent Nassington wickets tumbling with the hosts at 16 for 3 after Michael Jones had snared Tom Norman lbw for 3.
Nassington rallied to 156 and then kept their bowling tight as Stamford made only 117 in 41 overs.
Simon Lem top scored for Town with 28 on a slow day at the wicket.
James Trafford and Haroon Bashir claimed three wickets but Daniel Bandaranaike’s figures of 7-4-7-2 were the meanest of the lot.
