Oakham United came undone against the UCL Division One’s form side Potton United on Saturday, losing 2-1.

Potton’s win at home means they are now unbeaten in their last nine matches and they moved above the Tractor Boys into fourth in the league, pushing the Rutland side down to fifth in the table.

After a goalless first half Joe Jordan gave the Royals the lead in the 70th minute and then Gary Ansell-Carter doubled their advantage nine minutes later.

Adam Rothery continued his fine run of scoring goals when he pulled one back for strong finishers Oakham in the 81st minute but the visitors were unable to find an equaliser.

Oakham have another tough game on Wednesday night when they take on top of the table Peterborough Sports, who are unbeaten this season having scored 59 goals in 11 games, conceding just four times.
