Oakham United’s promotion into the United Counties League has been confirmed.

The Tractor Boys won the PDFL Premier Division with relative ease, and thanks to tireless efforts off the pitch by the club’s committee and volunteers to get their new Barleythorpe Road ground up to speed, the only question was which league they would move up to.

With many of the club’s players Peterborough-based the general consensus was a desire to play in the UCL and on Thursday that wish was granted when the league confirmed Oakham will play in the UCL Division One next season.

Oakham manager Wayne Oldaker said on Twitter on Thursday night: “Operation United Counties Leaguen - mission complete!

Congrats to a quality bunch of lads whose hard graft has been rewarded with UCL⚽️next season!”

The proposed teams for the UCL Division One in 2015/16 are: Long Buckby AFC, Potton United, Lutterworth Athletic, Peterborough Sports, Northampton ON Chenecks, Welleingborough Withworth, Trapston Town, Raunds Town, Bourne Town, Bugbrooke St Michaels, Olney Town, Rushden & Highham Unired, Woodford United, Irchester United, Buckingham Town, Blackstones, Burton Park Wanderers, St Neots Youth & Saints, Stewarts & Lloyds Corby and Oakham United
