Stamford AFC attacking midfielder Shawn Richards has left the Evo-Stik NPL club.

Richards missed nearly a year of football last season with injury but returned to action in October.

He was the Daniels’ longest serving current player having been a member of the squad which won promotion into the Northern Premier League in 2012/13.

This season he has made 12 appearances scoring one goal and being named the Daniels’ man of the match against Nantwich Town.

However last week Stamford manager Graham Drury added former Boston United right-sided midfielder Lee Beeson to his squad.

Beeson joins from Grantham Town and made his debut on Saturday, starting in Stamford’s 1-0 win away at Mickleover Sports.
