Oundle girls will chase a National Schools title at the Olympic Stadium

Oundle School girls Under 14 and under 16 teams have both qualified for the National Finals

The under 16s won a thrilling elimination match against Felsted on penalty strokes after Lily Craven had equalised with the last hit of the match. Oundle were perfect from the penalty spot with Craven, Frannie Aldridge, Dora Nicolle, Lucie Baker and Lara Chapman all scoring. Goalkeeper Minna Cooke saved the fourth Felsted stroke to send Oundle through to the National Finals at the London Olympic Park in February.

The Under 14s will contest their National Finals in Lea Valley in February after beating Norwich 3-0 with goals from Hannah Wakeford, Celeste Young and Ella Johnsrud .

Head of hockey at Oundle School Gareth Terrett said: “It’s a great achievement to have two teams in the top eight in the country.”
