Sri Lankan all-rounder Sachithra Perera agrees to return to Lincolnshire Premier Club club Market Deeping
Market Deeping have secured the services of Sri Lankan ace Sachithra Perera for a third successive season.
Perera has committed to the Outgang Road club for their 2020 campaign in the Lincolnshire Premier League.
He has pocketed nearly 200 wickets and scored more than 1,000 runs during his two seasons with the club.
Perera took three wickets and scored 43 runs on Saturday in Deeping's penultimate match of the campaign at Scunthorpe.
They went down to a 25-run defeat in a high-scoring clash which saw Scunthorpe move out of the bottom two.
Scunthorpe had batted first in a match reduced to 48 overs due to rain and made a tidy 235-6.
They shugged off the setback of skipper Karanjit Bansal retiring hurt after he made 32 with Ian Snowden and Matthew Cliffe taking on the run-making mantle.
Snowden struck 67 and Cliffe cracked six fours and a six in his 54 before they fell to Perera and Mehul Adatia respectively.
Jamie Brumby was then 22 not out at the close with Perera's 3-50 from 14 overs the pick of the Deeping attack.
Opener Kieran Judd (36) and Perera (43) then spearheaded the Deeping reply before James Hook hit 37.
Dave Gillett added a further 19 runs but, as Deeping upped the ante in search of victory, the wickets started to fall.
Daniel Cliffe claimed 4-55 from 11.4 overs while Bansal and Joshua Knapton both took braces as Deeping were dismissed for 210 in reply.
They complete their campaign on Saturday with a home match against second-placed Bracebridge Heath while Bourne - who were without a game at the weekend - visit bottom-of-the-table Boston.
Bourne are currently fourth in the table with league leaders Woodhall Spa being confirmed as champions following their victory over Sleaford on Saturday.
