Stamford Rugby Club welcomed back O2 Touch Rugby to the club this week.

Permitted under the RFU’s Stage C of their Return to Rugby programme, it saw more than 25 players of all ages turn up for the fun and enjoyable session.

Played under strict RFU Covid-19 regulations, the sessions are free and offer a structured set of touch rugby matches to both experienced and ‘never tried before’ players.

Cathal McHugh, touch rugby co-ordinator at Stamford Rugby, said “It was great to finally get back to playing a form of competitive rugby at the club after so much time away from the game.

“We welcome players of all ages to come along to the sessions and guarantee they will find it both fun and also will up their level of fitness.

“We especially welcome anyone who has not played the game before and would like to try something different in their fitness regime.”
