Deeping Rangers draw with Quorn in the United Counties League Premier Division North
A second successive clean sheet and four points from their last two league games were the positives for Deeping Rangers after their goalless home draw with Quorn on Saturday.
Both sides cancelled each other out in a United Counties League Premier Division North clash of few chances at the Haydon Whitham Stadium.
Clarets boss Daniel French felt his side hadn't hit the heights of their midweek victory at Sleaford Town but was satisfied overall with their points return following the heavy home defeat against Newark FC the previous weekend.
He said: "It was a fair result overall as neither side deserved to win the game.
"It was a little bit frustrating because we were nowhere near the performance on Wednesday night.
"It wasn't a poor performance though and, after the result against Newark the previous weekend, we would have taken four points from the two games.
"We have probably done it the other way round by winning away and drawing at home but it's a positive week which was our main focus after the Newark result.
"We have kept two clean sheets which is really good and that's what we can take into the next three games which will be really tough."
Deeping had the best chance of the game to break the deadlock in the opening 30 minutes after the visitors misplaced a back pass which was intercepted by Will Bird but his first-time effort was well saved by Quorn goalkeeper Max Culverwell.
The two teams continued to probe for opening throughout the contest with Deeping forcing a flurry of late free-kicks before home goalkeeper Dan Swan produced his now customary injury-time save to secure a point after a late melee.
Rangers: Swan, Flack, Smith, Burton-Jones, Hunnings, Banister, De Sousa (Williams), Coulson (Ellis), Bird, Wilson, Bloodworth (Showler). Not used: Carter, Walton. Attendance: 139.
Deeping are next in action on Saturday when they travel to Heanor before visiting unbeaten Long Eaton next Tuesday night.
Attacking winger Ben Cowles has left the Clarets to join Thurlow Nunn League Division One North side Peterborough North End Sports.
