Trio recognised at Volunteer of the Year awards
Three stalwarts of Stamford Rugby Club were rewarded for their sterling service at an event which took place at Nottingham Rugby Club on Friday night.
Kevin Paige, Mark Anderson and John McLeod were all recognised at the England Rugby/Mitsubishi Motors Regional Volunteer of the Year awards.
Kevin was rewarded for the time and effort he gives to the club to ensure that all of the catering needs are met from pre-match meals to hot dogs on Sunday mornings.
Mark, the club's vice-chairman, was rewarded for his dedication for a number of years - first in a coaching role and for the time he gives to fulfilling his current role.
John was thanked and rewarded for the sterling work he continues to do with the club's colts and especially for keeping the spirit of colts rugby alive at the club and within the Notts Lincs & Derbys (NLD) RFU area.
NLDRFU representative Darren Dolby said: “The celebration event is one of 34 nationwide where England Rugby can recognise, thank and reward volunteers who have been nominated by fellow club members for playing a vital role in ensuring grassroots rugby is and always will be as enjoyable and as successful sport as it is today.
“Kev, Mark and John are a vital part of the wider successful team of coaches and volunteers who have made rugby in Stamford very popular with both players, parents and supporters alike.”
