Oundle Town have started the Rutland Division One campaign in blistering fashion.

The men from Milton Road cracked 243-6 in 45 overs on the way to an 85-run win over Stamford on the opening day of the season and this weekend they were in even more ruthless form with the bat.

Led by high-class left-hander Andrew Reynoldson, Oundle bashed 324-5, again in 45 overs, against Nassington. Reynoldson smashed 145 not out from just 98 balls and Bendon followed up his opening day ton with 88. Jack Bolsover made 48.

Nassington made a spirited reply reaching 232 all out with in-form Connor Craig and Alex Bandaranaike passing 50. Reynoldson and Bolsover each took two wickets and there were four run outs as Oundle made it the maximum 40 points from their first two matches.

Last season’s runners-up Uppingham also started with a maximum as they bashed Barnack by 114 runs. Barnack apparently dropped 13 catches in the freezing cold as the home side raced to 246-6 - Max Collins (62) and Sam Hodson (51) were the main scorers for Uppingham.

Shahid Mohammed contributed 59 of Barnack’s 132.
