ALMOST 100 members of Burghley Park Cricket Club attended the club’s end-of-season dinner in November.
Held at Burghley Park Golf Club, the club’s guest speaker was Shaun Udal who has played for England, Hampshire and Middlesex as an off-spin bowler.
He entertained the guests with anecdotes from his time in the game and was followed by last year’s Burghley Park president, Mark Rollinson who gave some amusing stories about his time at the club. Third up was former Worcestershire, Glamorgan and Cambridge University player, Stephen Henderson, who gave an amusing speech involving some of the Burghley players.
The club put on display various league trophies won this year including the Huntingdonshire Division 2 Trophy won by the Saturday 1st XI, the League Batting Trophy won by Oli Lindley, the League Bowling Trophy won by Mat Simpson, the League Umpiring Trophy won by Derek Patience and the Huntingdonshire NatWest OSCA won by Chris Meadows for Cricket Force 2011.
The evening ended with a raffle and auction with proceeds going towards developing the club’s junior section.
