Former Peterborough United, Manchester United, Coventry City, Barnsley and Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Luke Steele signs for Stamford AFC

Stamford have pulled off the eye-catching signing of goalkeeper Luke Steele ahead of Tuesday night's FA Trophy tussle with Kidderminster Harriers.

The former Peterborough United, Manchester United, Coventry City, Barnsley and Nottingham Forest custodian will go straight into the squad for the second round proper tie against the National League high-flyers.

The 36-year-old - who scored a hat-trick while playing as a striker for Peterborough Northern Star Reserves on Saturday - has been recruited following an injury to regular number one Dan Haystead who is sidelined with a knee problem.
