Stamford were punished for a slow start to their big Northern Premier League Midlands Division match at Halesowen Town on Saturday.

The Daniels found themselves trailing by two goals inside the opening nine minutes of a crucial contest in the race for promotion.

Simeon Cobourne and Richard Gregory scored twice in three minutes to give the Yeltz a similar start to the reverse fixture at the Zeeco Stadium in September.

McKauley Manning then added a third goal for Stamford's second-placed hosts on the stroke of half-time before Graham Drury's side clicked into goalscoring gear after the break.

James Hicks marked his welcome return from injury with their opening goal after 56 minutes with Rodrigo Goncalves cutting the deficit further late on.

But Halesowen held out to leave Stamford 10 points adrift of the top two while maintaining their play-off place on goal difference ahead of Carlton Town.

Bourne Town crashed to their heaviest defeat of the United Counties League Division One season after an 8-0 home mauling by Aylestone Park.

Blackstones were beaten 2-1 at home by high-flying Radford with Callum Madigan scoring for the hosts.
