Stamford RFC U10s won the Mellish RFC stage of the Prima Tigers Cup this month to advance to the quarter-finals, held at Welford Road the home of Leicester Tigers in February.

The tournament takes place over five festivals covering the Tigers Academy Region and beyond.

Stamford started strongly in their first game against Melton Mowbray, winning five tries to nil. Next they beat Mansfield by three tries to nil.

After a quick turn round Stamford produced a fine attacking performance and ran out winners, six tries to nil against Dronfield

Paviors were tough to break down but Jack Haynes gave Stamford a well deserved try for a one try to nil victory.

In the final Stamford beat Scunthorpe thanks to a defence master class and tries from Will Delaney and Louis Batty.
