Stamford sign Bermuda international Roger Lee

Stamford AFC have signed Bermudian international footballer Roger Lee.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has played 10 times for the national team and more locally has played for Evo-Stik NPL side Ilkeston FC, who Stamford play tonight (October 13), Gloucester City and Weston-Super- Mare.

Lee, who is regarded as one of Bermuda’s most consistent defenders, made his Bermuda debut at just 17 in the 2008 Digicel Cup in the Cayman Islands.

Bermuda has a population of just 65,000 people, they island’s football team are currently ranked 131st in the world by Fifa.

Most of Lee’s senior football has come for the Bermuda Hogges in the USL Premier Development League, which is the development league running in the United States and Canada and considered the top level of amateur football in the USA.

He graduated from the University of Indianapolis last year but has put work on hold as he chases his football dream.
