Stamford have signed striker Kieran Wells from Evo-Stik League Division One South title favourites Basford United.

The striker - whose brother Bradley spent time on loan with the Daniels this season - has been a long term target for Daniels boss Graham Drury.

Wells has left the league leaders in search of regular first team football after a two-season spell with the Nottinghamside side.

Basford boss Martin Carruthers said: “I would like to wish Kieran all the best and thank him for his contribution to Basford.

“He is a great lad with an infectious character and leaves with nothing but praise from us.”

Wells is expected to go straight into the Stamford squad for Saturday’s trip to Kidsgrove Athletic.
