Stamford Striders picked up a haul of trophies alongside a record turnout for the club at Grimsthorpe on Sunday.
A total of 49 runners took on the 10k undulating cross country course in the yellow and blue and plenty more turned out to cheer them up the tough final hill and over the finish line.
Striders picked up both the men’s and women’s team prizes, along with a number of individual trophies. The day also saw many graduating from the beginners group to complete their first ever races.
Those performances were perhaps the most impressive as it heralded their journey from complete novice to competent runner.
Jim Morris was first home for the club, and first MV40, followed by James Skinner, Mark Popple and Richard Skidmore to win the team prize.
Maggie Skinner was second lady and also picked up the team trophy with Vicky Old (1st F35) and Amy Williamson. Elaine Allwood also picked up a medal, finishing first in her category.
