Stamford stormed to their biggest victory of the season after a stunning 5-1 away win at Alvechurch on Saturday.

Against a side that started the day in fourth place in the EvoStik Division One South, the home side gifted the Daniels the lead with a 10th minute own goal.

The Stamford advantage was doubled 12 minutes later by Jordan Smith with Henry Eze adding a third eight minutes into the second period.

The home side reduced the arrears through Javia Roberts midway through the second half, but Jon Challinor restored Stamford’s three-goal lead after 76 minutes.

The scoring was completed 10 minutes from time by Liam Adams who netted his third goal since joining on loan from Boston United.

There was no FA Cup hangover for Deeping Rangers who returned to United Counties League Premier Division action with a 3-0 away win at Oadby Town.

A brace from Scott Mooney and a Scott Coupland goal secured the win which moved Deeping up into sixth place.

Rangers face Blackstones on Tuesday night in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy and Andy Lodge’s side warmed up for that match with a 2-1 away win at Long Buckby on Saturday in their Division One clash.

Liam Harrold’s seventh goal in as many games set Blackstones on their way with Danny Barker bagging the winner after Buckby had levelled on the stroke of half-time.

Oakham called off their FA Vase tie at Thetford as they were unable to raise a side.
