STAMFORD’s Philippa Taylor won silver and gold at the British and Irish Masters Cross Country International in Glasgow last weekend.
Philippa, who runs for Nene Valley Harriers, took the individual silver for coming second overall in her age group, the over 40s, and her 22.14 time helped England to a team gold medal.
She said: “I was really pleased to come home with two medals.
“The race attracts a good quality field including a number of ex-international runners, and the course was very tough.
“I’ve never run in so much mud. It doesn’t just make it hard work running up the hills, it is pretty scary coming down again. Several runners didn’t manage to stay upright on the downs, but fortunately I did. And I loved it, despite the driving rain, wind and strength-sapping bogs.
“Running in the England kit was very special.”
