Deepings darts ace Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams won a big tournament in Holland on Sunday and almost pulled off a Dutch double.

The 58 year-old from Deeping was in superb form in Venray as he won the Hal Open - a BDO ranking tournament - and then finished runner-up in the Hal Masters.

Three-time BDO world champion Adams beat fellow Englishman Scott Waites, the 2013 world champion, 3-0 in the Open final after disposing of Ted Hankey in the semi-finals and Gary Robson in the quarter-finals.

Adams was denied a Dutch double by Belgium’s Roger Janssen, who pipped him 3-2 in the Masters final.

Adams is top of the BDO rankings.
