A new ice cream parlour/ dessert place has opened its doors in Stamford, wetting the appetite of those young and old.

The Eis Bar, located in Castle Street, next to the Meadows, has been open since Good Friday, and has already attracted hundreds through its doors for a tasty treat.

A family-run business, the new attraction which offers gelato, waffles and shakes, is owned by brothers, Bobby and Moon Ditta who have worked in Stamford for a number of years.

Sister,Nazia Ulla, who has been lending a helping hand said: “They both used to work for taxi firms in Stamford, so this is a complete change for them. They know the area and noticed a need for somewhere that not only offers tea and coffee, but also gelato and desserts.”

Open six days a week , from noon to 10pm, (closed Monday’s), The Eis Bar offers a number of delicious delights, including fresh waffles, jam-packed sundaes and super shakes.

Most recently, The Lamberts Revenge has been added to the menu, to honour Stamford’s Daniel Lambert in true gelato style - a total of 14 scoops, five toppings and three sauces. A challenge that has already been devoured by local resident, Matthew Thorpe in a record time of 11 minutes and 41 seconds.

“The Eis Bar is unique to Stamford,” adds Nazia. “We’ve tailored the desserts to represent the town, just like The Lamberts Revenge.”
