FIREWORK displays are being held across our area this weekend.


COTTESMORE bonfire and fireworks display will be held at Cottesmore Community Centre from 6pm. Admission is £3 for adults, £1 for children and free for children under five. There will be fairground rides, hot dogs and a sparkler area.

EMPINGHAM Cricket and Social Club fireworks display starts at 8pm. Advance tickets are £3 for adults and £2 for children under 16 or £4 and £3 on the gate. No unaccompanied children. Children under two years will be admitted free.

DEEPING Firework Extravaganza will take place at Deeping Rugby Club from 6pm.


STAMFORD Kiwanis will hold their annual bonfire and fireworks spectacular at Stamford Queen Eleanor School in Green Lane. Gates open at 5pm, bonfire lit at 6pm. Free car parking. Entrance £5 adults, £2 children. Hot food, mulled wine and funfair rides will be available but no sparklers please.

THE annual firework display organised by The Lions Club of Rutland opens at 6.30pm at Oakham Rugby Club.

Local firework company Hi-5 will present a super professional display, initially for children followed after a short interval by the family display. Tickets are £3.50 in advance, free for children under five years from Fords of Oakham in Church Street or Uppingham Sports and Books. Admission on the night is £4. Refreshments will be available.

NORTH Luffenham bonfire night will take place at The Oval from 6pm. There will be a collection and tombola to cover expenses and hot and cold refreshments and sparklers will be on sale.

THE White Horse Inn in Morcott is holding a fireworks and bonfire evening in aid of the Jon Egging Trust, which was set up in memory of the Red Arrows pilot who lived in the village and helps disadvantaged young people. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm, and the fireworks start at 7pm. Admission is free but donations will be taken on the night. There will be hot and cold refreshments and a licensed bar.

BOURNE Abbey Primary Academy PTFA is holding a Festival of Fireworks in Manning Road (opposite the old Rainbow) from 5.30pm. The fire will be lit at 6.30pm with fireworks from 7pm.

Advance tickets are £12 for a family of two adults and two children with up to three additional children at £1.50 if purchased alongside a family ticket. Tickets on the night are £14 for a family, £6 for adults and £3 for children. Advance family tickets are available from the school and Deb n Hans shop, North Street, Bourne.

LAWRANCE Park Community Association Bonfire and Fireworks Display starts at 7pm at Lawrance Park, Thurlby. A donation of £3 per person is suggested. Refreshments and a barbecue will be available.

A BONFIRE and firework display organised by 1st Market Deeping Guides will take place at Greenlands, Market Deeping. The gates open at 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks will start at 7pm. There will be refreshments, a tombola and raffle. Admission is £4 for adults and £2 for children.

RAINBOWS Hospice Festival of Fireworks is at Leicester Racecourse. The gates and fairground rides will be open from 5.30pm, children’s fireworks at 7pm, bonfire at 7.30pm and main display at 8.15pm. A CHARITY Firework Spectacular in aid of LOROS Hospice will be held at Mallory Park race track from 5.30pm. There will be music, stunt trucks and other entertainment.

LEICESTER Tigers will hold a Firework Spectacular following the final whistle at their ground in Welford Road

TWINLAKES’ unique themed Fight of the Dragons Firework Festival event is the finale to a full day of entertainment at Twinlakes from 10am to 9pm.


A FIREWORK Display will be held on Baston playing fields on Sunday. The gates will open at 3pm with fireworks from 6pm.
