Bourne Classic Car and Bike Carnival is still going ahead this Sunday – despite torrential rain leading to a change of location.
The event, which is expected to feature over 400 cars, was due to take place on the Wellhead Field, in Bourne, between 10am and 6pm.
Organisers have decided the field is too wet and muddy for vehicles to park on without getting stuck, so the event will now take place in the South Street car park and in West Street.
Army cadets will be on duty to help direct visitors to the new location.
The show is organised by Bourne Events Team – a group of volunteers keen to bring visitors to the town with a exciting events.
As well as vehicles, there will also be vintage fairground rides, live music, stalls and much more.
Retained firefighters from Bourne will be present at the event and will do a demonstration in which they will be cutting a Ford Fiesta into pieces small enough to post through a letterbox.
They are planning to raise money for two charities – Forbenandsam and The Firefighters Charity – and will have collection buckets out.
Firefighter Dan Smith said: “We hope people will be generous and help us raise funds for two important causes.
“We have made a door, complete with letterbox, ready to use on the day.”
