CREATIVE villagers took part in competitions and enjoyed a stalls and exhibitions at a sunny gala day in Carlby.
There were plenty of entries into the photographic competition on Saturday, which was won by Claire Ferguson.
Villagers paid 20p to vote on the 25 entries, and more than 100 people donated and had their say.
A garden in a tray competition, organised by the Carlby Gardeners, was a great success.
During the day there was a range of stalls and exhibitions on offer, from ice cream and a barbecue to a tractor display and highland country dancing.
A judo club also gave an exhibition.
Ian Dair, who ran the photography stall, said: “We had a very good turnout, and we were very lucky to have a window of sunshine when the gala was on.
“Everyone seemed to have a good time.
“We raised £475.83 towards the playing fields charity which is a great figure.”
