Producers of breads, wines, cheese, beers, crafts and other goods are being invited to take part in the 2016 Stamford Food and Drink Festival.

The festival is being held on The Meadows, Stamford, from Friday, June 17, to Sunday, June 19.

Organised by established market event specialist the Market Square Group, the festival will bring together independent food and drink companies from across Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties.

Market Square Group Director Paul Kennedy said he hopes the event will inspire more people to buy local produce.

He said: “Come and join the party and help us make 2016 an inaugural year to remember - applications are now open for food and drink and arts and craft traders.

“Stamford is famous for its independent boutiques and shops and The Meadows is the perfect area to hold a festival like this.

“We are looking to get a wide of variety of different produce at the event, for example handmade cheeses, sausages, fresh fruit and veg, confectionary, olives and oils, chutneys and pickles.

“We want to bring a real taste of the region to Stamford so please get in touch with us if you would like to be a part of the Stamford Food and Drink Festival 2016.”

Stallholders have already begun to sign up, but there are plenty of places available.

Alongside the many food stalls, there will also be live music on stage for all to enjoy and entertainment for children.

Visitor entry to the festival will be free of charge.

Market Square Group has put on similar market events across the UK since 2009.

In addition to exhibiting at the Stamford Food and Drink Festival, sponsorship opportunities are available.

Colleges with catering departments or courses are also urged to get in touch if they would like to be part of the cookery demonstrations and displays.

Anyone wishing to rent a stall, or to trade at the event, can do so directly via or by e-mailing
