PEOPLE of all ages can enjoy a great day out in Deeping St James on Sunday.
More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the annual Deeping Raft Race which this year is raising money for Anna’s Hope and local charities.
The races begin at Back Gate, Deeping St James, proceeding under the footbridge and heading upstream towards the locks.
As a further challenge, teams will take their rafts out of the river and up the bank before launching them back into the water and continuing past the old meadow and the Deeping Stage to finish at Market Deeping Town Bridge.
Anna’s Hope race will start at 1pm and rafts will set off in pairs every minute from then on.
A Raft Race dance evening will be held tonight at The Deepings School. There will be a hog roast and live music from The Guards and Tokyo 55.
All tickets will be entered into a prize draw to win £100 on the night.
Tickets are £20 from the Spar shop and Tinkers Hairdressers, Godsey Lane, Market Deeping.
