SEALED Knot, the UK’s premier Civil War re-anactment society will be at Castle Bytham Midsummer Fair on Sunday.

Cavaliers and Roundheads will battle it out, there will be an authentic encampment and costumed characters will give cameo performances throughout the village.

The fair’s main entertainment field will host children’s activities; archery; a bar and barbecue with hog roast; live music stage and Castle Bytham Drum-Off competition.

The event will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm with live music continuing at the Fox and Hounds and the Castle Inn until 8pm.

More than 70 stalls will be set up in the streets and the spectacular black and white 21st Century Molly Dancers will perform in the village.

The ever-popular dog show will return, there will be a classic car show, clankety tanks and off-road 4x4 rides and a duck race accompanied by a Murray Walker-style live commentary.

Weather permitting, the end of the fair will be marked by a low-level fly past by a Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and in the early evening the Red Arrows will trail their unmistakeable red, white and blue smoke over the village.
