South Holland and The Deepings MP John Hayes has been made a CBE in former Prime Minister David Cameron's resignation honours list.

South Holland and the Deepings MP John Hayes is now a CBE having been named in former Prime Minister David Cameron’s resignation honours list today.

Mr Hayes, MP since 1997, was awarded the honour of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) “for political and public service” after serving in Mr Cameron’s Government since the 2010 general election.

Starting out as a Minister in both the Departments for Business and Education, Mr Hayes also served as both an Energy and Transport Minister, as well as a senior Parliamentary adviser to Mr Cameron as Prime Minister between March 2013 and May 2015.

Mr Hayes was then made Minister for Security at the Home Office before beibg moved back to the Transport Department by current Prime MInister Theresa May.
