Singers celebrate at Burghley House on October 1

THE association of St John’s College, Cambridge and the Cecil family are coming together in a double celebration in the Great Hall of Burghley House tomorrow.

The Gentlemen of St John’s will give a concert to mark the college’s quincentenary this year.

This is a return visit for the group and is particularly special because Lady Margaret Beaufort, the founder of the college, was Lady of Deeping and William Cecil, who built Burghley House, went St. John’s College in 1534 as did five Earls and Marquises of Exeter. The concert, which starts at 7.30pm is in aid of Cancer Research. Tickets are £20 from Annette Beeton - 01733 232521.
