A TALENTED girl hit the right note at a music festival.

Becky Taylor, 14, from Morton, won five prizes on multiple instruments in an impressive showing last month at Peterborough Music Festival.

Becky, a pupil at Stamford High School, took top prize in the under-14, under-16 and open violin classes and was placed in the outstanding category for all three performances.

She won the piano for open string duet class with Katie MacCormack, and shared top prize with Emily Strand and Hannah Perry for violin solo (18 years and under).

Becky also received a shield for the Most Artistic Performance of all string classes.

Mum Liz said: “She’s over the moon. She worked harder than she ever has before for this competition and we’re very proud of her.

“We’re a musical family. Becky was taught piano by her dad Nick and has always enjoyed playing so to see her win like this is fantastic.”

Becky has reached grade 8 in both piano and violin. She also goes to the Royal College of Music in London every Saturday.
