One of the one of the world’s most celebrated and pioneering ensembles will make its Peterborough debut on Sunday.
Britten Sinfonia will give an open air evening concert at Thorpe Hall Hospice as part of Arts Fest’s 2013 Festival On Tour programme.
Opening with Grieg’s ever-popular Holberg Suite the music will journey by way of Elgar, Stravinsky, Bartok and Steve Reich through some of the most thrilling and evocative string music of the 20th century.
Britten Sinfonia is acclaimed for its virtuoso musicianship, an inspired approach to concert programming and a versatility that is second to none. It is a Barbican Associate Ensemble and has residencies in Norwich, Brighton and Cambridge. The orchestra also performs a chamber music series at the Wigmore Hall and appears regularly at major UK festivals.
