Pinder’s Circus returns to Oakham and Stamford

Clowns, acrobats, escape artists and daredevils return to the area this week for a family-friendly big top extravaganza.

Pinder’s Circus will perform in Cutts Close, Oakham, until Sunday having started on Thursday.

The troupe will then move to Stamford’s Recreation Ground, where they will host shows from Thursday until Sunday next week.

The usual cast of performers returns, including the Pinder family themselves. Husband and wife Eddy and Erika have been entertaining audiences with their clown act for many years. And their son Edward has become a celebrity in the past year, appearing on Britain’s Got Talent. Music mogul Simon Cowell even braved the youngster’s knife-throwing act. This year Edward will introduce a diablo to his usual Wild West performance.

New this year is an escape artist in the style of Harry Houdini. He will be tied up in a straight jacket and swung from the ceiling - can he find a way out of the predicament?

Two performers from the US will also appear. Their act includes aerial manoeuvres and quick change magic.

Ringmaster Mike Lea said: “It’s a nice family show - something for all the families in Rutland and Lincolnshire to enjoy.

“We are looking forward to coming back to the area.”

Shows in both locations will take place in the heated big top at 6pm Thursdays and Fridays, 2pm and 5pm on Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays.

Tickets are £12 for adults and £10 for children. Look out for discount vouchers in shops and call 07578 083755.
