Stamford Verse Poetry Festival is back, running from Wednesday, April 20 to Sunday, April 24.

The event, supported by Walkers Book Shop in Stamford, will take place at the Arts Centre, with a number of poetry events being held for all ages.

A special launch event will be held on Thursday, April 21 - An Evening with Sophie Hannah at 7.30pm. A brilliant writer of funny, accessible poetry, Sophie will be reading from her New and Collected Poems, Marrying the Ugly Millionaire. Tickets £9 (£8 concessions).

On Friday, April 22, enjoy a night with Mark Grist and Hollie McNish at ‘Poets in Conversation’, 7.30pm. Mark is a poet, performer and teacher based in Peterborough who writes poems and performs live shows that tour globally. Hollie is a London-based spoken-word artist who has been making huge waves with her fresh take on the genre. Tickets £9 (£8 concessions).

For families, the Rhubarb Theatre Company presents ‘The Amazing Adventures of Librarian Lil’ on Saturday, April 23. Tickets £6 (£5 concessions), 5 years plus.

There will also be a number of other poetry themed events, including ‘The Shakespere Delusion’ and ‘Peter Sutton presents Piers Plowman’.
