The region’s best rockabilly night returns to Stamford this weekend with one of the most exciting live acts around.

Frenzy will headline a Voodoo Rockahula night at the Voodoo Lounge on Saturday, with support from The Jack O’ Bones and El Camino.

Frenzy was formed in 1983 by singer and double bassist Steve Whitehouse, and quickly became one of the leading bands in the rockabilly genre.

Albums such as Hall of Mirrors and Clockwork Toy brought the band a loyal following, but it was the excitement of the live shows that really made Frenzy into a must-see act.

From the early 1990s, Frenzy pushed the envelope and were ahead of their time in their approach to the modern rockabilly sound.

Now with 12 albums under their belts, the latest of which is Nitro Boy on their own label Crash Records, the members of Frenzy are again going from strength to strength.

With guitarist Steve Eaton and drummer Adam Seviour, Frenzy is once again at the top of the UK rockabilly scene, with recent albums Nine O Nine, Dirty Little Devils, and Nitro Boy full of the same energy that made the band famous 30 years ago.

Support on the night will come from Leamington Spa psychobilly trio The Jack O’ Bones and Stamford’s mystery men El Camino. Promoter Stuart Rowland hopes to see a big turnout for one of the town’s most energetic nights.

Doors are 8.30pm, tickets £12 on the door or £10 advance from www.wegottickets.com/event/296817.
